女儿读小学时，一年级的班主任曾给家长送来一信，告知她教育孩子的宗旨，很有不谋而合的感觉。英文原文及中文翻译如下：
      If children live with criticism, They learn to condemn.
      If children live with hostility, They learn to fight.
      If children live with ridicule, They learn to be shy.
      If children live with shame, They learn to feel guilty.
      If children live with distrust,  They learn to lie.
      If children live with tolerance, They learn to be patient.
      If children live with encouragement, They learn confidence.
      If children live with praise, They learn to appreciate.
      If children live with fairness, They learn justice.
      If children live with sharing, They learn to be considerate.
      If children live with knowledge,  They learn wisdom.
      If children live with patience, They learn to be tolerant.
      If children live with security, They learn to have faith.
      If children live with approval, They learn to like themselves.
      If children live with happiness, They will find love and beauty.
      If children live with acceptance and friendship, They learn to find love in the  world.

如果孩子生活在批评的环境中，他们学会谴责。
如果孩子生活在敌意的环境中，他们学会对抗。
如果孩子生活在讥讽的环境中，他们学会害羞。
如果孩子生活在耻辱的环境中，他们学会有罪恶感。
如果孩子生活在不信任的环境中，他们学会撒谎。
如果孩子生活在宽容的环境中，他们学会有耐心。
如果孩子生活在鼓励的环境中，他们学会自信。
如果孩子生活在赞美的环境中，他们学会感激。
如果孩子生活在公平的环境中，他们学会公正。
如果孩子生活在分享的环境中，他们学会体谅。
如果孩子生活在有知识的环境中，他们学会智慧。
如果孩子生活在耐心的环境中，他们学会宽容。
如果孩子生活在安全的环境中，他们学会有信仰。
如果孩子生活在赞同的环境中，他们学会喜欢自己。
如果孩子生活在幸福的环境中，他们会找到爱和美。
如果孩子生活在容纳和充满友情的环境中，他们学会在这个世界去发现爱。
